Swaumu’s Purpose
Swaumu Juma Koba faced a difficult period after completing her Form Four education, as poor academic performance and financial challenges prevented her from continuing with further studies. This setback caused her dream of becoming a tailor and top model to fade, leaving her feeling hopeless and without direction. However, her life began to change when she joined the Bonga program at Upendo Bonga Centre in Bagamoyo, even though at first she did not fully understand what it offered.
Through Bonga, Swaumu gained life skills, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. She is now receiving practical tailoring training at Mazzordi Centre and is determined to build a career as both a skilled tailor and a model. Her journey reflects resilience and transformation, and she encourages other young people to seize opportunities and remain hopeful, emphasizing that success is still possible even when initial plans fail.
